Empangeni Shopping Centre is more than a shopping destination, it’s an exciting meeting place for the community with an offering of stores to suit every need. With four levels of fashion, food, services and everything in between, our 100 plus shops deliver a huge variety to the uMhlathuze region.
Situated on Maxwell and Commercial Road, this buzzing shopping destination is just off the R34 (John Ross Highway) which leads to the R102 and N2 North and South. It’s extremely accessible by taxi, bus or vehicle and is only 20 minutes from Richards Bay, 30 minutes from Kwambonambi and 50 minutes from Matubatuba and Eshowe.
We love to make shopping a pleasure for the region and have loads of fun activities on the go. Empangeni Shopping Centre was built in 1972 and has been through several expansions and renovations over the years to improve the overall retail offering and fulfil the growing needs of the public.
