Empangeni Shopping Centre "Win a Car" Competition Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility:

   • The competition is open to all South African residents with a valid South African identity document.
   • Participants must be 18 years or older.
   • Employees of any store within Empangeni Shopping Centre, employees of the Centre, and their immediate families are not eligible to participate.
   • Contractors, service providers, and anyone directly involved with the competition are also excluded from entering.

2. Entry Requirements:

   • To enter, participants must spend a minimum of R250 at any store within Empangeni Shopping Centre between 01 October and 16 December 2024.
   • Entries must be submitted during the competition period.
   • Participants can enter by visiting one of the competition kiosks in the Centre, where they must drop their till slip with their name, surname, and contact details on the back, or by using the tablet provided by our promoters to complete the online entry form. Alternatively, they can scan the QR code and fill in the online entry form.

3. Validity of Entry:

   • Entries with incomplete, illegible, or inaccurate information will be disqualified.
   • Participants must provide valid contact information for notification purposes.
   • Duplicate entries based on the same transaction will be disqualified.
   • Each till slip is valid for one entry only, regardless of the total spend exceeding the R250 minimum.

4. Winner Selection:

   • Two potential winners will be selected through a random draw conducted by Empangeni Shopping Centre or its designated representatives weekly during the competition period.
   • The selected finalists will be notified using the contact information provided and their names will be shared on our social media platforms.
   • 22 potential winners will be selected as finalists.
   • If a selected finalist fails to meet the eligibility criteria, another finalist will be randomly selected.
   • Finalists will be required to provide a copy of their valid South African ID document.
   • The 22 finalists must attend the main event draw on 21 December 2024 at Empangeni Shopping Centre to be eligible for the final prize draw.

5. Prize:

   • The main prize is a brand-new Renault Kwid Life.
   • The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other goods or services.
   • The winner will collect the vehicle on 7 January 2025 from the Renault Hyundai dealership after arrangements with Empangeni Shopping Centre management are made.
   • The winner must allow Empangeni Shopping Centre a reasonable period to register and license the vehicle in their name. The winner must provide all necessary documentation, including a valid South African ID, driver’s licence, and proof of residence.
   • The prize does not include vehicle insurance, which is the responsibility of the winner to arrange before collection.
   • The winner must collect the car within 7 days of being notified, failing which the prize may be forfeited.

6. Publicity:

   • By entering the competition, participants grant Empangeni Shopping Centre the right to use their names, images, and other related details for promotional and marketing purposes, in both print and digital media, without further compensation.
   • The names of the finalists and winner will be published on our social media platforms and may be announced during media interviews.

7. General Terms:

   • Empangeni Shopping Centre reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the competition at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.
   • Empangeni Shopping Centre is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries due to technical, postal, or any other issues.
   • The decisions of Empangeni Shopping Centre and its competition board are final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding those decisions.
   • By entering the competition, participants agree to receive marketing communications from Empangeni Shopping Centre.

8. Liability:

   • Empangeni Shopping Centre, its employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, damage, or injury arising from the competition, the acceptance of the prize, or participation in the event.
   • Empangeni Shopping Centre will not be responsible for any damage, malfunction, or defect in the vehicle after it has been handed over to the winner.
   • The winner assumes full responsibility for the car upon receipt, including all associated costs, such as insurance, licensing, and maintenance.
   • By entering, participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Empangeni Shopping Centre, its employees, and agents from any claims or legal action arising out of their participation in the competition or receipt of the prize.
